looks good great job
I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, and finally had a little extra money. I decided to build this on a budget, so that's what I did. I started out with a Savage 11FCNS in 308.
I swapped a friend the original sporter barrel plus two AR-15 magazines for the 308 varmint taper barrel.
I found someone selling the Choate Tactical stock for $100, then sold my Accu-Stock for $75. I had a Nikon BDC 4-12x40 that I traded for a Harris S-L bi-pod plus $60. I then ordered the 20 moa base and because this is a budget build, I topped it with a Primary Arms 4-14x44 FFP. I went with this over the Nikon because I want to teach myself how to use the mill-dots for range estimation. If I decide that I need better glass in the future, I can always save my pennies.
About the only thing that I still want to do to this is a new bolt handle.
Finally got around to shooting a little today and testing some loads. Today was H4895, got some RE-15 loads to shoot and hope to find some BL-C2 to try.
looks good great job
Congrats on the build and great to see the world of bartering is alive and well!
Thanks guys!
Nice! Nothin wrong for working with the glass you can afford for now. I'm in the same boat- shooting my 10VT with the package deal scope on it until I can save up for the Vortex I've been eyeing.
