.473" bolt face and a 308 mag box would be all you need to change as far as I know. I do not know what length the 204 mag cutout is though and if it will accept the 308 box problem free, so maybe one of the guys on here will set us straight.
Have a savage 11 in a ruger 204 that I am going to move up to a 6.5CM . I Know the bolt has to be changed and I'm ok with that but what about the larger ammo. Will a larger magazine fit in the current on or is there more modification that might need to be done to fit it? Or is there just another piece I need to buy?
NM the title its a savage 11

The 6.5 CM is a great all around rifle. I predator and varmint hunt with mine, and hope to deer hunt with it next year. It is deadly accurate and has knocked down everything I have shot with it. I have never shot a 204 but it wont be any more accurate than the 6.5!
Switch the bolt head, baffle, and the mag box and that is it. I would suggest reading through the "Savage FAQ" section here as there is tons of information in there to show you how to accomplish this. Here are a couple of articles that should help a little bit:
Magazine removal and Install
Bolt Disassembly

You'll need to replace the front baffle as well. The 223/204 baffle will not allow the bolt to travel back far enough to pick up a longer round from the magazine.
