Personally I like the metal to retain its original styles of finish respectively, but that's just me. On my newest coyote rifle build I may go ahead and do it all in a color, but I like keeping the metal the way it is because I am always switching barrels onto different actions to be able to utilize stocks the best for the current usage the rifle sees and painted metal would complicate that for me. It also sells easier should I ever want to part with a barrel or action.

They do look good painted and should conceal nicely if hunting critters with sharp little eyes.
