I got one with the same checkering,and stock shape,but the ramp for the front sight in made onto the barrel,and I think it's a 1951 EG from what I've read on the computer.
I've been offered WAY more for mine than what I know it's worth,and the only reason I dont sell it is the sentimental value .
I would say that if yours aint been tapped for glass then somebody has had one of those one piece bases on it that attaches to the dovetail slot,and to the tang because yours has a bolt sticking up a little on the tang,..If I was you I would be looking for another one of those bases,Mine has been scoped (tapped) since my dad got it back in the late 50s or early 60s,and has taken a lot of game.I still kill an occasional deer or turkey with it ,I know that it's a no-no to tap them now days,but if it WASN'T scoped the gun would never have been enjoyed much by my late Father,or me..
