there's no need for a long action in .223, so use the m10.
I am planning to install a .223 barrel on one of the following actions[NOTE-gun will only be used as a single shot]
This is what I have.
M-10-243 Win.
M-110-243 Win.
M-110-30-06
I would like to install it on the 110 action if it will work,I know I will need a smaller bolt head also. Will this work?

Yeah? Why do you want to use the 110 action? Just Askin ? ;-))
You looking for one? man i bought 2 last year for under 250$ each, and now im looking for another donor and man they are getting expensive, haven't found an old shot out 110 for less than 350$. A long action 223 single shot wouldn't be bad, but it would be bulky. If its a single shot it wouldn't really matter, but a shorter and stiffer action has the possibility of being slightly more accurate
"soli" said he already has 1 short and 2 long actions, he just asked advise as to which would be best to use for the 223 build. ;-))
I plan just to use it 99% of the time for paper shooting.[It's a bull barrel] I have a single shot mag plate from a old build,Something for the grandkids to shoot.
You can make either one work, but if I were doing it, I would use the M10 action. The long action is just way more than is needed for the 223. JMHO ..... Jim
The 110-LA will require a LA-223 bolt head which is kinda tough to find. I believe SSS used to make a conversion part for your firing pin that allows the use of a SA-223 bolt head on a LA, but you'd hafta check with Fred (from SSS) about whether or not he still makes it.
If it were me I would become a paid member here and put up a WTB thread in the classifieds, this has been the best place for me to find parts like that.
You might also check with PT&G and see if they can make you a LA-223 bolt head, the only difference between the SA and LA is the stem length.
As to the accuracy of LA vs. SA, I have built a few Savages and had barrels on LA then SA and vice-versa. I have seen no differences of 1 over the other. My 243AI for example started on my old 12FV short action, then to a 111 long action, then to a 10 short action, and is now on a older 110 long action with the short mag box and it was equally accurate on all 4 actions.
204, 22 K-Hornet, 222, 223, 22-250, 22-250AI, 6BR, 243, 243AI, 6-06, 6-WSM, 250-3000AI, 270, 7-08, 7RM, 30BR, 308, 30-06, 375 H&H, 444 Marlin, 450BM, 458WM
Why build a 223 on a LA? Better question is WHY NOT? My 223AI is on a 110 long action, shoots great and feeds well from an AICS 223 magazine (took a little bolt body work to improve reliability).
Dave Kiff @ PTG responded to me on Facebook that they could in fact make a LA .378 bolt head, but you'd have to CALL and order it.
Thinking about ordering another one or two, just because.
