can I build an Axis in a magnum caliber?

I agree with LoneWolf. But if you insist on a 6.5mm, the 6.5/06AI would be a good bet also.

Rebarrel to 280ai. It will get you very close to magnum performance.

I don't insist on a 6.5mm, or magnum (or close to) performance, but this build WILL BE a .264Win mag.

seeing as this is my first build and I want it to be completed in a reasonable time frame, I will stick to the 110 action for this one.
