They have never required that from me before. I order from them all the time. How did you try to purchase, over the phone?
Just a heads up. I was just on their site for about an hour trying to buy a stock, but I found out after all this time they have to have the extra four digits after your zip code to place an order. They said I have to change it with my bank first ? I have never had to deal with this before. Do they want my business or not ? So I guess I'm still looking for a stock as I'm not dealing with it any more. I'm not going to beg them to take my money. Sorry for the rant.

Both phone and on line. I did however figure it out. I just had to add the four digits to my billing address. It had nothing to do with changing it a the bank like the guy on the phone told me.
Bought from them few times, did need any thing like that.
Watch out a some of numrich gun stuff is seconds.
Retired sniper. You can run, But you will only die tired!!!
My last purchase there I needed to "update" my info. They wanted the +4 from my zip.
They didn't mention anything about making changes at the bank.
Maybe they don't like guys from Michigan...
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!
I've run into that before - it's a security measure to help reduce fraudulent chargebacks. When checking out and entering your billing address info it needs to match what the bank has exactly, so it the bank is using the +4 digits you will need to enter them.

Now I see on my bank statement they charged me twice.
Still in the pending.
When I updated my address their system automatically put in the zip + four. Never had an issue ordering with them. Yes some of their stuff is seconds but that's because they buy old guns and parts from various sources. Remember... they are NOT a manufacturer, they are a used part supplier and sometimes have New Old Stock parts on hand.
The stock I ordered says "New original". We'll see.
Savage sells them a lot of surplus stocks and such. There have been several times now in the last ten years where they've had brand new American Classic stocks available in both long and short action and a number of folks here got them for a real good price.

Got mine today, it looks great.
I was going to order a New Old stock 12 VLP stock from Numrich until I saw one in the classifieds I bought instead. So it anyone is looking for one they have them.
