My LRP factory chamber coal is 2.86 to the lands
Have the new rifle, have all the makings for ammo, haven't had a chance to fabricate a case to use with the Hornady gauge as yet.
Guesimated the chamber length with a snugly loose projectile deliberately over length in the case. Worked it through the action, measuring the push back each time. Came up with a 2.9/2.92 avg.
Loaded up a ladder set yesterday
Rem Brass
140 gr AMAX
H4350 in 42, 42.5, 43, 43.5 sets
COAL 2.850
Anyone have any experience with the Criterion 260 Match chamber - am I in the right 'ball park' to develop a load from? Mainly interested in the COAL.

2.85 may be a bit of a jump in the match chamber with its .160 freebore (as you found)...but A-Max are pretty jump friendly.
I have a CBI 260 match barrel and is exactly 2.920" to the lands with a 140 Amax. I always start my load development with bullets touching the lands.......only one way to go after that.
Hodgdons online data shows a max charge of 42gn of H4350 and a 140gn pill. I know people run over that mark but my barrel seemes to like the Amax's on the slow side. I just switched to them and I have a load that looks promising but I need to see how they do out to 300 yards.
Have fun, I love my 260.
