Eddie,
If you load your gun and the ammo feeds one from the left, and next shell from the right; that is called staggered feed.
If they get squeezed into a central point and feed from the same spot every time; center feed.
Hi to all members,
I know the topic has been asked and answered before but i still could not really understand especially when measuring the action and screw spacings. I have a Savage 12VSS serial number G4xxxxx and is not sure if it is a staggered feed or a center feed action. When i take out the action, the ammo follower, spring and spring plate is left in the stock.I do know there is a rectangular box (for housing the spring and follower attached to the stock). What does this means? thanks. Eddie.

I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
you have a centerfeed!
