I have built a number of AR's but have zero experience building or modifying bolt guns. That said, any assistance is appreciated.

I've been looking for a platform to build a 6.5 Creedmoor. I am considering re-barreling my Model 10 FCP-K which is currently chambered in .308.

What problems might I encounter?
What tools will I need to do the job properly?
How do I verify whether I have a large or small shank receiver?
Can I use the .308 bolt? I intend to invest in headspace gauges.
What torque values do I need to know?
Any barrel recommendations regarding manufacturer, supplier, profile, length, twist?
Any other tips?

This Model 10 action is currently in a XLR chassis. I still have the original accu-stock. Would I be ahead of the game if i bought a bare receiver, bolt, barrel, recoil lug, mag well to build a new rifle?

TIA
Dave
