The hornady dies will be just fine.
I have a new Savage 12 LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor.
I reload for my 308 already and I need to acquire some dies for the 6.5. I am not a bench rest shooter but I do like an accurate rifle. My question is:
What dies are necessary to emulate factory bullets?
I see the Hornady set for around forty bucks and was wondering if it was worth my time. I reload now with a lee turret press and pacesetter dies in my 308 and it works great. I was wondering if I need to invest in match dies or a bushing set if I am only using Hornady brass and trying to get at least as good of quality as factory. I don't want to spend the money on match dies if i can do that with the new dimension dies. I also would have to wait a while on the match set as they are back ordered. I need them now! I can't afford to shoot buying all my ammunition. What do some of you think that have done this for a long time as I am fairly fresh to the game? I figured somebody could give me a little info to steer me the right way.

No, you don't need "Performance dies", to emulate factory LOADS, not bullets
I have been printing MOA at 1,000 + yards for years with my Lee dies.
I personally don't care for the Hornady stuff, but I'm sure they make fine dies.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
Sorry Darkker, got lost in my question and terminology. I use Lee dies now and they work great, I would buy them for my 6.5 Creedmoor but they aren't available that I know of. That's the only reason I am looking at the Hornady dies. I guess I know what to do now. Thanks guys.
My 6.5 hornady dies work fine sub moa with 120 tsx and 95 vmax
Are they the non bushing type you are using? I think they are called new dimension or something like that.
I'm up to speed now, no Lee doesn't stock them, but will make you some. Lee custom does are cheaper than a lot of other "competition" items out there.

I use redding. Forster and whidden also make good dies in 6.5cm.
I have yet to really find a set of dies that didn't work well as long as I followed the directions and payed attention to what I was doing...most of my dies are RCBS (I really like their customer service), but I have dies from Lee, Redding, Hornady, Lyman and CH and they all do their job...honestly, it's more of what you prefer. I have several dies over 40 years old that still work just fine...if they are well taken care of they should last you a lifetime of reloading.
I have the Hornady Match dies for my 6.5 Creedmoor, and love the hell out of them. The bushing dies are worth every penny you pay for them, and I never thought I'd ever say that.
I've used standard type dies for over 30 years, and have had great results, but I've even bought some Redding Type S bushing dies for my new 6.5-06 build.
The difference in accuracy has changed my mind about those type of dies.
Yeah that's why there is a Whidden bushing die on the way for the 6xc. I'm going to get a 308, 260, 22-250 full length bushing sizer and the ti ni bushing kit.
the Hornadys' work fine, my rifle shoots and groups very well using them.

I really like the couple sets of a Hornady dies that I have. They also qualify for a rebate that'll get you 100 bullets free from Hornady. You just pay the shipping.
What kind of rifle do you shoot the 95's with. I have the 8 twist savage LRP and was wondering if I could also varmint shoot with the lighter bullets accurately.
