Having a shilen 30'' 300wsm barrel built for this rifle and just want to double check that it is indeed a large shank? I havnt bought the rifle yet, there Is a 6 month wait for the barrel so mI figured I would go ahead and get that rolling.

I think so to. I called savage and the lady said that It was, but before I drop 500 dollars on a barrel I wanted to actually have that verified by someone who actually owns one. Havnt had a chance to see one In person for myself yet.
I always wait to get the gun in hand to verify everything. I just got a 14 in 300wsm from gunbroker that said it was a DBM, but it is a hinged plate mag. Problem is if you can't verify the step down exist on pictures I would wait to order the barrel to be safe. Plus you never know if someone else changed barrels on it.
Was your14 a large shank? And that sucks man. Not a big fan of the floor p either. My 10 precision carbine has the dbm.
