Just trying to move inventory. I started noticing the SS 14/114 version priced to move last year.
Someone posted pics of a beautiful 114 and got me looking again at them.
I noticed the SS versions are priced less than the blued versions. That is not typical.
I am wondering if anyone knows why. Is the bolt different (Axis style like I guess some Trophy Hunter XP's are) or maybe plastic trigger guard and bottom metal?
Just curious.

I'm just grabbing this out of the air but the CS version has to have metal prep and bluing applied, could that be the additional expense.
I love the wood. Wishin' my 25-06 was in that stock.
Are the stocks avail from factory?
Check Numrich ; I got a model 14 stock for about $125. It had one tiny ding in it where it would never be noticed.
They have/had them for both side and bottom bolt release although I did not look at the long action stocks.
Cool. Thanks.
I have not seen any Savage SA 14 American Classic centerfeed stocks with DBM inletting in stock at Numrich in some time. I did purchase a Savage LA 114 American Classic compact stock from them a couple of weeks ago. Savage Arms Parts will sell you a 14/114 AC walnut stock, but be prepared to pay extra when compared to Boyd's or a Savage surplus/discontinued stock from Numrich.
