First time posting question, but long time visitor to savageshooters. I'm in the market for a new scope and can't really decide on which one, so I'm asking for opinions. It will go on top of a Savage (of course) 270 WSM that shoots lights out and is used only for hunting. A Bushnell 3200 4-12x40 sits atop it now and is really great, but is lacking eye relief and I'm tired of getting smacked. I have narrowed my choices down to either a Sightron Big Sky 3-12x42 or a Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40. Let me hear the pros and cons of my choices. Thanks.

Fixed power scopes like a 4X will sometimes have better eye relief. With variable power scopes, when you increase the magnification you will shorten the eye relief.
I'm not a fan of BSA by any means but I have a BSA Big Cat with almost 5 inches of eye relief on 3 power. It's the only reason I bought it.
I have always appreciated Leupold's generous eye relief.

+1 on the Vortex Viper
The glass in the new Sightron's is phenomenal, better than any scope listed so far IMO.
Given those two options, and my experiences with both mfrs, hands down the Sightron. Primarily because of the quality of their glass is much better in my opinion. I too, would look at the Vortex before the Leup. You wanted opinions, you got em.
