i was hoping to find some cool diy ideas thats ive googled all day just figured id ask
I have seen some DIY's stickies on other forums that are really good. If you have not already looked. If you can't find any let me know. Youtube as well.
ive been youtubing as well but the are all kinda ghetto or the kydex kind which is what i might make if i can find kydex cheap enough
Is 3.76 plus shipping cheap enough. I may have an extra sheet but shipping would eat us up.

I made one for my Mark II from some 3" PVC. I slit the pipe and flattened it in the oven, then cut out the pattern I wanted, reheated and molded it to the shape of the stock.
Thats a great idea and I have plenty of pvc pipe... I made a quickie today post pics soon
Here it is
Would everyone please welcome our newest Savage Axis addict.....
He even works on his rifle in the kitchen. On the table, too.
Yup, you're going to fit right in here.....
Looking good.
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!
thanx man i am hooked and work on it when ever i can lol
I started with a cheek rest and have now rebuilt the entire rifle!
I just put a SSS fluted bolt body to finish it. The only thing I haven't changed is the action itself!

i love that stock
Yeah but, did you do it on the kitchen table? That proves the Axis owners mettle....
I rebuilt my chainsaw on the kitchen table. There's a hole in the sheet rock about the same diameter as my head. The 'lil woman was not too happy about it.
(PS - The hole wasn't from the chainsaw.)

I did it in the garage because I built the tables there myself!

Looks good, kid.
Again, with the kitchen table, eh?
You really ought to consider a bench. The bench is sacred to men that make their own projects especially guns & reloading. If you work on guns in the kitchen - AT the table, this automatically gives the wife permission to fold laundry on your bench. Maybe even set up a sewing machine on your bench.
If word gets out your man card may be suspended.

lol i have a bench but its 2 miles up the road at my shop did most the work there but needed the oven to heat and shape the rest
This is my first one. I have modified it slightly since. I still use the neoprene cover, it feels good on the face, but the insides have changed a little. The original is piece of pipe that is split and shaped with a torch to the shape of a U. Inside the U I put high density foam for the lift. I taped the piece down and pulled the neoprene over it. To clean the rifle I just pull the neoprene forward and remove the rest, clean, retape. I use electrical tape and it holds nicely.
New design is a 1" wood dowel cut and shaped, then pinned. The pins go into the top of the stock which has holes drilled. No taping. Neoprene is still used. It is really comfy on the cheek.
