For few $$ more you can get one with an accu trigger.
I bought some Simmons 4x scope and it works fine. I am going to shoot it on my 7 mag to confirm that it keeps zero .
I'm going to purchasing a savage lil rascal .22 for my son for Christmas and wanted a few opinions on scope options. I plan on getting a egw base for it. Don't want to spend a ton on it as its he's first real rifle. Probably start out shooting around 25 yards and move out to 100.

Simmons 22 mag scope.
My mistake the rascal has the accu trigger.
Yes the rascal has the accu trigger. Seems like a good platform to start him off on. I looked at a few scopes today, the vortex crossfire 2-7x32 and the Nikon 4x32 both in the $110-120 range. Still undecided on fixed or adjustable power. I don't want any thing to heavy for him either but would like to stay at $100 or less.
I'll have to check the Simmons out. Thanks
Fyi: I paid $20 brand new for my 4x Simmons.
If you really think that a $20 Simmons scope has any chance at longevity on a 7mm Mag, then you really need to think again. These inexpensive scopes are great for non-recoiling firearms, but it won't have a chance on a magnum caliber one. Keep it on the 22 rimfire.

Well….if you do this, what I'm afraid will happen is you will completely destroy the scope's inner adjustments, or the scope's gas seal will simply self-destruct and fogging will become a permeant issue. So, my recommendation of just put in on the 22 and it should work fine.

Normally I would concur with dave on the cheap scopes, but I will point out that sometimes you do find a good one. I had a BSA (which I view as pure crap based on other examples I have owned) 4x32mm that I ran on a 22LR first then tried it on a 12ga Slug gun, then a 30-06 110, and then back to a 22LR. Countless Rimfire shots, over 150 slugs, and 60 rounds or so of -06. Amazingly held Zero on each weapon.
Would be amazed if I found another one that would do it. Sometimes the stars align and when a company is trying to build a pile of crap they let a good one slip by.
