You could bed the forearm to the barrel to allow for a tighter fit and add some tension to the latch. I ended up having to bed the fore arm on my 250 to get it to shoot. Might work just an idea.
I have a Takedown in 30-30, probably from around 1918-1919. Put a few rounds through it the other day and on some hotter ammo, the forearm would pop off. I'm thinking a week spring in the latch. Not sure if that is easy to fix or not. Anyone have any ideas?

How do I add tension to the latch?
By adding the bedding it will hold it tighter to the latch without movement if that makes sense.
sure, makes sense. thanks for the tip.
