It will work. I would do more than Dremel out the front hole. Like put a plug and pillar or something like that. There may be some other minor clearance issues but you said you had a Dremel.
Gang,
I have a chance to buy a nice stock (4.4" center feed) with a factory .308 savage DBM. I have a 4.27 stagger feed short action .243.
Of course the caliber will work given the .308 parent case. Can I simply pop off the stagger feed mag box from my action, dremel out the front hole .13" in the stock, and use my action with that stock? Will it function OK? I knew someone on here has probably done this. Any issues I should consider?

I read a thread on this somewhere on this topic here but I cant seem to locate it. ????
Hi LRPut! I recently successfully put my 110 .223 Long Action Stagger Feed action in a Boyd's 110 LA Center Feed stock. The only issue I had was the clearance between the "Well" in the stock and the front action screw/bolt needed to be enlarged / lengthened. This allowed the action to fit properly and to mount solidly. In my case, that space was SMALL, considering the existing bore-out for the front action screw and the nylon "bushing" that the screw went through.
GO SLOW, test fit, SLOW etc. You'll do fine, take your time. Mine works great and is a REAL shooter.
Hope this helped. Brian
