Why not just tape off the trigger?

This is what I generally do. I use blue painters tape then put release agent on everything, including the tape. This also makes sure you have adequate clearance for the trigger after the bedding job.

This was my first bedding job and I figured I could do a much better job removing the trigger and fill the entire void with clay. I am glad I did it this way as results werre great so far. I have to shoot it to be able to come to the conclusion as to wether it helped or not.
