Hey Nandy, I have run a full case of RL17 "compressed load" in a 22-250 with a 65gr bullet, and not even remotely begin to see any signs of pressure.

For my 7mm em and 30-06 i do .3 gr increments. What do you guys do for these smaller bullets? I will be trying 65 gr sierra gameking and 64 gr nosler bonded pushed by rl17 since I can't get varget.
And since I'm at it if anyone is shooting these same combination and want to share their load that will be great. I haven't look at starting powder grain yet.
Thanks!

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
I use .3gr for the shorties (243, 7-08, 308, etc) & I use .5gr for the 30.06 based cartridge.
After I find the sweet spot, I fine tune using .2gr for all.
When the OCD is in full bloom, I try even amounts, then go to the odd numbers....
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!
And don't believe Dean.
Sometime I think he owns stock in all the powder companies...
Love ya like a brother, my brother...

Dean, how many grains is that load?
Frank, thanks for the advise. I need to plan this reloading today... trying to shoot friday or saturday...
Good luck.

What advise are you actually thanking him for, the load increments, or to stay away from me, LOL
I load 42gr of RL 17, but you should start at 40gr, and go up .5 gr at a time, or even if you stick with 40gr,
that's a stout load and you will be fine,

Hey Frank how come I have a feeling, that was directed at me.LOL

Sometimes, just sometimes I feel the need to be obnoxious.
It seems we contrast nicely with our reload methods.
You pack 'em full & try to exceed the speed of light.
I look for the lowest accurate node to work from.
What works for you just isn't kosher for me.
So what if I need to aim my rifle up on a 45 degree angle to get that 800yd shot on target. So what if I need to put 3 washers under the scope mount to get enough angle.
My bullets hit the target. It just takes a little longer.

I use .2 grain increments in my load development. I have found that sometime .1 can make or break a load.
Im going with the usual .3 then will adjust after that. Thanks you all.
