A small shank threaded barrel chambered for 270 wsm and a modified or custom bolt head. Might be better off looking for a 10, 11 etc... in that caliber.
so i was looking up the fps for the round that i shoot(.270). now i was wondering how hard it would be to change a axis over to 270 wsm? it just looks like a nicer round all around. i allready have a 300 wsm which i like alot but i think i want a 270 wsm.

ok thanks.
Go with a Centerfeed Long action. I built a 6mm-WSM (necked down 270WSM) and it is currently on a CF-LA as a single shot, but when the barrel was off I tested it for feeding on a CF-LA that was a 7mm Rem Mag and it fed and functioned perfectly and left me plenty of room for seating bullets long if needed.
I am going to build another 6mm-WSM (someday) for hunting with a Heavy Sporter contour barrel (as the one I have now is a 28" straight bull contour) and when I do I am going to pick up a Centerfeed Stevens 200 or Savage 110/111 in either 7mm Rem Mag or 300 Win Mag as a donor. With those actions it is simply a barrel swap.
