The one I ordered for my long action was longer and I had to adjust the firing pin protrusion.
Are the PTG short action bolthead lugs appreciably longer than the factory ones, or did they mistakenly send me a long action head? After I installed the new bolthead the firing pin doesn't protrude from the firing-pin hole, it's too short.

My firing pin doesn't have any kind of adjustment option. Do I just buy another firing pin assembly?
Do you have a savage model 10 or an axis or something else.I have never seen a pin that couldnt be adjusted yet.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
It's a Savage 11. I picked up the Hunter XP package, I'll post a photo of the firing pin when I get home from work in the morning.
Savage has changed some of their firing pins to a two-piece model that is non-adjustable. There is a thread somewhere with a photo of it.
Sorry I didn't get this up sooner, my wife put the camera away which meant that neither of us could find it.
Anyway, here's a pic of the firing pin that came in my rifle:
What the opinion of the PTG bolt heads now that they have been out for a while?
Im contemplating a 223 head for building a 222
Update: turns out that through the magic of inventory software I ended up with a .338 Lapua bolt head, even though PTG's computer said they shipped me a .308 SA. Waiting to hear back about an exchange or something, but not in a terrible hurry as my stock isn't due until sometime later this month.
