You have a trigger fused to a barrel and the screw will not come out? Man, That is a first. What model savage is it?
I picked up a used rifle.... I am done doing that. For now on everything will be brand new!
Anyhow, I wanted to remove the trigger group because I was going to bed the action and free float it. Turns out whoever owned it before me fused the trigger to the barrel. I tried degreaser, pb blaster etc... Basically its going to strip the head of the screw out. Either they used loctite or jbweld.
Is a gun smith my only option? I really don't want to drill and tap the barrel...

Savage 110.
Let it sit in penetrating oil over night, if that does not work use torch to heat it up.
All of my 110's triggers attach to the action. None of them attach to the barrel. None of them use a screw to attach the trigger to the action so you must have a different rifle. I have purchased a few used actions where someone used a torch...they went in the lugger pan. Using a torch without discretion can be a bad idea. we dont even know what kind of rifle we are dealing with yet.

A few pictures of the issue will definitely help us help you.
Thanks. I actually was able to finally get them loose with a torch. I appreciate the advice. It has been a long day....
