On the McGowen Outlet website, "target" = large shank.
I know I ask once..How do they do the shank sizing
? Looking for a bull barrel with small shank...cornfused
with their sizing info..Thanks..
On the McGowen Outlet website, "target" = large shank.
I thought target was target, large was large, and standard equaled small according to their website.

Select the right shank for your Savage rifle. There are several ways to identify your current Savage shank. Target actions use the large nut and will have the word "Target" on the action. There are also 3 screws in the receiver for a target shank. The barrel nut on the large shank is shorter in length than the nut used on a standard shank.
Savage Thread Specs:
Target Savage - 1.115-20 TPI (1.400 Long +/- .020)
Standard Savage - 1.060-20 TPI (1.600 Long +/- .020)
Large Savage - 1.115-20 TPI (1.500 Long +/- .020)
Please Note: The threads on Savage blued actions run small. We recommend using a thin lubricant or anti-seize when installing your McGowen Precision Barrel.

Standard = Small Shank
Target vs. Large = roughly 1 thread . . . their basically the same, I use Target on everything, Target or Large Shank.
PM me if you have a question.
