Just bought a Model 12BTCSS with a G986XX sn.
Looks like we are getting close
I'm trying to figure out how close Savage is to making the jump to the H series serial numbers.
If any of you guys bought a new gun this year can you gimme a partial serial number so I can see how close were getting?
If G5XXXXX was 2006 then it's gotta be getting close. Are we into the G9's yet?
Thanks for any help, Joe.

So what's the significance of the "H Ser#,better quality?????????????????
H means they have made enough changes they think it is a new upgraded model. Similar to car model changes.
Guessing, You guys that have Hs have the new bolt release?

Couldn't it simply be that they reached G999999 and then the next one had to be H000001 ?
LOL we are dealing with savage marketing, hard to say.

Anyone qualified to guestimate the production of that G875XXX serial number?
I would guesstimate that Blue Avenger may be of help ::)
not me, I can't keep dates straight, but there are some guys here that can.

.
Just picked up a W W Greener built in celebration of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.
Don't think there is an H or G in the serial number.
But it should not be considered new.

Wow, they chambered that in 220 Swift?Originally Posted by Hammer

But the 222 Remington, 222 Remington Magnum, and 219 Donaldson Wasp hold important positions in the field too.
I appreciate a wide variety of calibers and cartridges.
Ranging from the 14 Walker to the 585 Nyati in rifles and from 25 ACP to the 500 Linebaugh in handguns.
In shotguns, especially like the 16 and 10 gauges, but have played with most of the various gauges. Don't have too much experience with the 34 gauge or the 4-inch 28 gauge. Like the 8-bore where it can be used without prejudice.
