Check the stocks at Sharp Shooter Supply.
Hi to all any help would be great. I need a budget stock for my Savage 16 7mm-08 left hand blind mag staggered feed rifle action screws 4.27 apart. I bought this rifle some time ago the BBL was 1 in 11 1/2 twist it wouldn't shoot 140 & 150 gr. bullets very well. I bought a new BBL from midway 1 in 9 1/2 twist. Now I need to find a stock all said and done I paid 400.00 for a action. I would like to find a thumbhole laminated stock with 4.27 action screws. I have tried Boyd's, Stocky's, Cabela's, Midway, Brownells. Boyd's has a nice featherweight thumbhole stock but its center feed blind mag with 4.415 action screws. I would also be willing to buy used stock if anyone has one. you can email me if you like budholland@yahoo.com

Stockade, Manners, and Russo are about your only other choices.

Thank you both very much for your help I'll check them out
Choate makes nice plastic stocks for the lefty Savages. Available in any color that you want, as long as it's black.
Consider getting a right hand stock with the measurements you need, in a color that can be "modified", cut the bolt handle slot on the left side and plug the right side. A dark color would be pretty easy to get close in a color match.
Thanks I think I'm going to try the stock from Boyd's. by moving the front action screw @ changing the blind mag well size. I don't know if this will work till the stock comes in so I can get a good look at it.
I you can't find anything else you might try here...

A little more expensive that Boyds, but nice stocks and they can make them in any configuration.

Thanks Gary if I can't make the Boyd's work I'll check them out

check out richards microfit gunstocks in ca. they will make anything you want. i put one on my lefty 22x250
and its a beautiful thing. i ordered mine rough inletted for my gun and unfinished outside.
Boyds has several stocks that will fit your needs. Go to their website and do a search for the following terms: Savage, short, staggered, and left.
apperently theres been some change at boyds and stockys within the last couple years.
when i called about 3 years back boyds had no lefty stocks. stockys only had them for rems.
thanks for all of the help I bought a Boyd's stock left hand, short action, center feed. I called savage about the action mounting screw spacing. I was told the trigger guard screw was in the same place that the front screw was moved forward to make the spacing 4.415. the stock is drilled 4.415 and has a steel insert in it. I thought i could slot the stock hole to fit my action. i didn't know about the steel insert. with the insert there i don't know if i can do that. i may have to send the stick back. i was going to use a dremel tool to fit the staggered mag well if needed.
Drill out the insert, plug the hole, drill a new hole for the 4.27 spacing. That is the easy part. I have no idea on the mag well mods, but I wouldn't be using a dremel unless you have a VERY steady hand.
