You could have applied yourself a bit more, ya know.
Nice work bud.

I don't know how you would go about doing it, but maybe some knurling or rings.

What tooling. Lathe? Interesting approach. It looks like you turned the original handle down? That must have been fun to indicate...
Did my own handle on a lathe and mill as well. Its at the gunsmith getting cerakoted right now:

hmmm, that handle shape and installation style look awfully familiar......
Glad to see another do-it-yourself'er making handles. Grooves and knurling can help, but I like mine smooth. With added length I find the grooves and knurling unnecessary for target or hunting with or without gloves, but they do add a certain look too.

Very nice. I did one like that about a year ago and had 4 small grooves on it. It felt very nice and had good grip without "chewing" up your fingers. You'll love it, good work.

HAHAHA.. I love that bolt handle you have on yours too scope...
Just one more thing to customize.. I'm down to an untouched bolt. I've got some polishing to do on a couple surfaces and some spring play in there... everything else but the action has been tweaked, changed out, modified, or adjusted on my rifle. Some day I hope to actually get to fire it :D
Stang, I have a question for you.. who did the jeweling on your bolt body?

That is probably the a really good way to make it look stock. How does the factory cast metal weld? Is it WCB or something like that? I am using 316 and 304 for the shafts. Do you tig or rod with???... 309?
I use Tig and I haven't had any problems with welding the SS or cast ones. I just use the matching handle to factory metal. I mill off the old one and drill the hole and tig it on then take it to the lathe and turn it down. I use Boot's handles

I am sorry to say stangfish, I will not be hanging this bolt handle on any of my rigs, instead I have decided to carry it around with me and admire it, and show it to anyone that will stop and take a look, including the postman the guys at the coffee shop strangers you name it,
then when that gets old, I am going to get a big gold chain and hang it around my neck, just like "flavor flav" again thanks for the jewelry.
