I don't think at today's going rate for machining, that it will be worth while, the barrel will first have to be re profiled, then re threaded and then re chambered.

I have a barrel I'm thinking of having rechambered for my Savage target action. This barrel is threaded for a different action and I
wondered what all would be involved to do this and would it even be worth while.
Thanks, John.

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
John,
What is the barrel in it's current configuration and what do you want it to be?
And who made the barrel?
It is a 30" Hart 1-10 1000 yrd. taper chambered for the .220 Swift AI. and threaded for a Stiller Diamondback. I would like
to turn it into a .22 BR for my Savage. Being 30 inches long. I figure I got plenty to work with.
Thanks John.
Starting with that barrel, you have is more work and machining, than starting out with a blank, your only advantage is that you are going to save the cost of the blank, but that will be out shadowed by they extra cost of machining, and one last thing you have added a forth step, in the machining process over the ones I mentioned in a prior post, now you have to cut off they existing chamber, it adds up quickly.

Part off < 2" of barrel breach end, thread and cut chamber, Part off < 1" muzzle end, cut target crown. 1.5 - 2.0 hrs < $200
