Up until 1941 it would have had a 22" barrel but after 1941 it would have a 24" barrel.
Wondering if someone could help settle an argument between my buddy and me; What length barrel should a 1953 Savage 99 EG in 250-3000 be?
Up until 1941 it would have had a 22" barrel but after 1941 it would have a 24" barrel.
Savage- "never say never".
"Up until 1941 it would have had a 22" barrel but after 1941 it would have a 24" barrel." That's what my buddy says, his 1948 is 24".
But some how my 1953 EG 250-3000 is 22"
If you read Murry, it kinda says, 22hp, yad yada, 250-3000, 303Sav are 22"
300Sav 24"
then specifies the Winchester calibers next three lines
Would like to believe mine is original somehow..??
Alright, lets throw Murrays right out the window for arguments sake and I pull out my 1953 catalog which I just did.
It still only states the 99EG as being chambered for only the 300 Sav and the 250 Sav that year and only states a 24" barrel. Still no 22" bbl.
Savage- "never say never".
Ouch
Prefer 22", but would rather have original
Thanks
