Those are extended bases primarily need for a long action where you are putting a scope on that has a short main tube.
Theres not really a right or wrong way to mount them(as in long base in front or rear). It basically just depends on which direction you need to move the scope to obtain the correct eye relief. The way you have it now will allow the scope to be slid back closer to the rear.

IMO, I dont think you will need an extended base with the scope you chose, and can get away with standard length bases and not have them hanging over the ejection port. Like these:

If you definately want multiple slots you may as well just go with a 1pc base, like the EGW base.
