If it does have a serial number I can date it for you.
Never dated a 220 before so I'm guessing they run with the same serial numbers as the 219's.
Is there a way to get a born date based on serial number of a Savage 220b?
Thanks for any help.

Savage- "never say never".
Does not have a serial number, and was made in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts
Hmmmm strange, most of the Chicopee 219's and 220's had serial numbers.
Well, if it was made in Chicopee we know it was made after they moved from Utica in 1947 and reopened in 48.
The B designation means that there was a small modification to the model of the gun. They made the 220's right up into 1973. Seeing as how yours was a Chicopee it was made between 1947 and 1960. They moved again in 1960 to where the factory still sits today.
I actually found a major mistake I made in an article I wrote on these guns back in 2008. I'll have to get that fixed.

Where did they move to in 1960? edit
Never mind, they must have moved to the current site at
100 Springdale Road
Westfield, MA 01085
