kslefty --- The problem is, why pick a nearly obsolete 270AI over some of the newer Hot rounds, like the 270WSM? I also have a Winchester model70 pre-64 that was my fathers. I thought the rifle was original, and since I don't shoot a 30:06 I listed it on GunBroker, I found out that the rifle had been altered, I didn't know dad had done it, the barrel had been shortened 2" to 22", of instead of $1500+ it's worth about $600, for the action...... Dad has done this at least 4 times to weapons that are now considered collectible.... I got very upset at one of the others, but that's another story......

I could use that action, or buy a Savage action and try one of the .277 wildcats, I think they have been over looked as an accurate bullet --- comments? Still waiting for data on the 270AI, just ball park is ok..... Thanks
