I'd look into a Vortex Crossfire 4-12 or maybe a Mueller 4.5-14 APV
Bushnell Elite 3200's 10X can be had on ebay for 156.00-175.00 that would be a really good scope.
i know you get what you pay for especially when it comes to scopes but im wife poor and i need a scope.my budget is about $125,$150 is really pushing it.cabelas has a scope(pine ridge) in that range with special turretts for the 223 in 3 different bullet weights. any suggestions? ill also be doing some camo work on it so saving my money for a leopold is out of the question.

Welcome to the site.
There are good scope that don't cost an arm and a leg. I would stray from Pine Ridge, BSA, Tasco, Simmons, and Barska.
As mentioned Vortex makes one heck of a scope for the money, and they are in your price range. Mueller also make good scopes, and may people have fantastic luck out of Bushnell Elites. Out of the three, I would pick a Vortex.
Meullers are good scopes.
I had a Sightron S1 3-9x mildot that cost like $129. Shot a hog at 300 yards with a 7mm-08.
DRT one shot.
Nikon prostaff 2-7x or 3-9x. On sale at a few places.
If you can swing a little more $ a leupold 2-7x VX1 is a great scope for the $.
A little over $200.
+1 on the Crossfire from what I've seen/heard. I'm getting one for my hunting rifle right now. Quite a few options as far as zoom range and reticle for your budget, and a great warranty. I have no experience with their customer service but I've heard great things on various forums.
Pentax Gameseekers are pretty good for that kind of money.

Pentax look to be made in the same plant that makes Burris Fullfields. That first link is weird but a good buy. I've seen the 3-9x40's out at the range, they don't suck.

PS Silly features like "special turrets for xxx" are a WASTE of money regardless of how much you have to spend.
The new Mueller 4.5-14 APT with 30 mm tube, mil dot reticle, target turrets, and fast focus for $145 shipped from Mizzou Mule Guns.
Mueller 8.5-24x44 with the mill dot recital. I just got one from midway for 159.00. Im quite pleased with it so far but have not shot a box test as of yet. Its clear even at the higher end. Bill
I would also recommend the Swift Premiers. They're not very expensive, but maybe a little higher than your budget but I think you would be very pleased with them. I have several and haven't been disappointed yet. The others mentioned are good ones as well.
Check with Natchez Shooting Supply sometimes they have good deals on discontinued brands.
I don't know if they still have them, but SWFA had some 6.5X20X40 Crossfire's for $99.99 a short while back.
I just checked SWFA website and they are still listing the 6.5-20X50 Vortex Crossfire for $99.99.Originally Posted by bythebook

The new redfield scopes are made in Oregon, owned and backed by Leupold, and carry a lifetime warranty.
VORTEX !! and thats all I have to say about that :D

I'm tempted to try the new Refields too. It's nice to see an American made scope in that price range and it is getting some pretty good reviews from what I've read so far. The only problem is the slection of models are limited and they don't have any higher magnification models than 12x.
I bought a VORTEX Crossfire 3.5-10 x 50mm for $130 bucks. I am extremely satisfied with it. The warranty is unbelievable. They cover everything but theft or loss!!! No matter what happens, whether it is your fault or manufacturers fault. That is hard to beat. The warranty is also transferable. I got mine at Optics planet. Like I said for what I paid I got an exceptional scope. I would definately reccomend Vortex!
