Ya gotta screw the nut onto the barrel before you screw the barrel into the action...
That almost looks like a tongue twister.. ;D
Here is the issue, just got me a small shank SA receiver. I also have a 24" 223 varmint profile barrel. The problem is, the barrel nut that came with the receiver will not slip over the barrel. It stops about 4" before the threads start. I know I have got to be doing something wrong, so be gentle.

Nother quicky question. Where in the world can I find a SA CF 223 box magazine and follower? I got one from Midway but evidently it is for SF.

Get it straight from savage on savage parts finder. It will ask for a serial# and if your serial doesnt match the caliber you could wend up with the wrong mag.You can go to brownells and look it up and they will sell you the complete magazine.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
Thanks for the laugh. :DOriginally Posted by gotcha

Would anyone happen to have a Model 10 that came form the factory 223 and CF? If so I would love to get your SN so I can order the part through the Savge part finder. I put mine in and it of course came up as a 308 (as it should).

Just call Savage Monday and talk to Effie and tell her what you need and she will get you set up.
