I rebarreled one in 22-250AI which is a lazer,number2 was a .260 rem, shoots very good, number 3 is a cylinder barrel in .308, number4 is 7.62x39 which is very accurate and number 5 is a .223 1in8 criterion.I prefer the mcgowens over everything else as I have had greater accuracy with their prefits.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!

Not sure if it's odd, but we did a 6mm SLR a few weeks back. Works very nice
375-06 imp from PacNor with a 8 twist for subsonic. 350 gr. Clearwater is great for deer. But it loves 220 gr Hornady run fast. 300 blk that was a pain in the foot until I contacted Fred and got his ejector. Anybody in for an Edge 338, 30" bull group buy???
I have a 30" 338 edge with a muzzle break on the way and it is costing me a kings ransom, I hope it's worth it, I now know why they call it a poor mans Lapua, it has done exactly that turn me into a poor man, and the barrel is the least of my problems,
1 brass OUCH
2 dies OUCH OUCH
3 powder 100+ grains a whack OUCH OUCH OUCH
4 bullets 50 per box that cost more than 100 count other calibers OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH
I could go on

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

I dont know how to post pictures or even have a digital cam,but im getting some help from a shooting buddy (i hope soon ) to post pictures of the axis stocks i make and the 45acp conversion ..
Back to the barrel and bolt face,i have tried many ways considering the rim is larger than the bolt
1 Easiest was to cut the brass to a rebated rim work intensive but most rewardin
2 method includes many wasted bolts and only so so results .it includes turning bolt face milling llug of bolt milling rear of barrel for the remaining r lug housing the extractor.
Clearly many ruined bolts trying to use existing nonmodified cases
I do enjoy challenges and as u can see have much time to try those I WONDER IF THAT WILL WORK

Dean,
Want to sell that full kit Wink
Thanks but it will be here in a couple of weeks,
and the waiting has been even more painful
than the expenditures.

One of my 110s (pre-1959) usually sports a Douglas varmint 25-06...But this one shed the stainless barrel the other day and put on its small headed bolt and a Shaw .221 fireball barrel....Now a LA with a itsy-bitsy .221 might be considered a little odd...But boy does it like to shoot small groups ;D

Building a 270 wby now. Not odd but not common as a 270win it isn't.

I guess my most unusual was/is my .270/08 AI. I never could get it to shoot like it should have and it turned out that the concentricity of the barrel was out to lunch. Now it is a fire form only barrel.

It's better to shoot for the moon and hit the fencepost than to shoot for the fencepost and hit the ground!

I guess my .416 Taylor Striker and .270 STW Rifle would be the oddest I have.

All the calibers mentioned are pretty interesting, but until I read this I didn't come up with any hair-brained schemes. My hunting buddies thought I was goofy for building an "oddball" like a 257 Roberts. Wait till they hear the next barrel I have on order.Originally Posted by Idahojoe
Uncle Jack; Have you worked with your 22-6mm Rem enough to tell us what it likes and what you think of it? See, I have this barrel blank.............. :)
