Now you know what we know
Assume there aren't any savage employees on this forum, but there are some here that have a keen ear.
Any recent rumblings about bringing back the striker? They add new rifle models often.
read this post on a pistol site today: At the 2008 SHOT Show, Ron Coburn told me that the "Striker would be back, and it would be right..."

Hurry Up! It will bring down the price of the used ones.
I want them to bring the striker and the smokless powder inliners.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
Cabelas has a Savage Striker for sale right now.

Where? I'm looking for a 510 in 308.

Not to kill your dreams, but the Striker will probably never return. It's called progress, and most of the component parts are now obsolete. With the Axis taking on half of the production of the centerfire line, special interest limited production models don't have a chance.
"As long as there's lead in the air....there's still hope.."
Ron Coburn reads his mail.
I asked a couple of Savage folks about a possible return of the Striker at the NRA meeting yesterday, and I got a couple of sideways looks and then "I can't say I officially know anything about that" as a response.
Sharpshooter is most likely right, but it seems that the response I got was carefully worded.

Got it from the custom shop recently..."wait a little while." Maybe they aren't planning to use obsolete parts and will introduce a new trigger assembly. They tried those funny calibers in the model 25's, not outlandish to think they would build a new striker. Can hope so.
maybe they will go rear grip to keep it simple
