What does crf mean so I can understand what you are asking.
I have a CRF short action set up with the CRF wsm bolt head. If I wanted to get a 204 or 223 barrel what would I need to do to make the switch? Do they make a .373 crf bolthead or do I have to do something to switch it to push feed?

Controlled round feed
Some one will have to rework a bolt head or you will have to remove the fixed ejector.

Changing the project? Not going 270wsm any more? Or different action?

Lol nope . The main focus of the project is going to be the 270wsm as planned. But i want to take advantage of being able to switch barrels and add to my prairie dog arsenal. So i want to be able to change to something in the 204/223/22-250 class, and then change back for deer season.Originally Posted by MaDa
On my RUM long action the CRF ejector was just held in place by the trigger pin. I just removed the CRF ejector and installed a push-feed bolt head and it works fine.
All you need to do is to remove the standing ejector and swap in the new bolt head and a regular firing pin assembly.
There are two firing pin assembly's- a magnum and a regular.

Why not build a .223 WSSM? Would be a lot easier than swapping bolt heads and swapping the ejector in and out and they are fast.
More shooting, less typing.
Thanks for the replys. I have thought of just doing a .223wssm but I have never seen a used barrel for sale in that caliber. The others pop up on here in large shank every once and a while.
they don't last long enough to sell as rifled barrels LOLOriginally Posted by 03mossy

cool deal. and yea, i've also never seen a 223wssm barrel on the forum.
do you have to run the 270wsm as a crf? or is it just preference?
