H4895 you can reduce all the way down to 60% of max load.
Thanks Dean
Has anyone here ever loaded their 300 Wm, to 30-06 levels? What kind of accuracy results have folks gotten with the 300 loaded to '06 levels? Looking at Hodgdons data, that is starting load levels for the 300.
If so, what powders were best for you at those levels?

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
Yea I know I can, even the listed starting loads match the top end '06 velocities, I was just wondering if anyone had loaded their 300's down to '06 levels, and if so, what their accuracy was like. I ask knowing that many cartridges perform best with high density charge levels. A charge of 63-70gr of powder isn't a "reduced" charge, just starting level loads.
My best hunting load is 69grs h4831 with 180sst around 2850-2900 I think and my 110 fcpk 300 loves them shooting them from in to small 3/8" to 3/4" groups if I do my part
I have a 30 plus year old Rem 700. The most accurate load by far: A lee loader dipper of IMR4895 and a 150 grain Hornady spire point. It is the most accurate rifle I own, and I have fiddled with this rifle over these years, with a lot of powders and bullets. However, I cannot beat the accuracy of this load, it is about a 30-06 velocity. Before anyone asks, it was also the first reload I ever tried, and I should have stopped right then.
Yea, sometimes it just works out that way. Good to hear.
ya my first batch were 06 area
then i said to my self i bought a 300wm not a 3006 so why load them there. that and the best group i got was 2.5
now with 73.5gr of rl22 and a 180 pration im shooting 3/4 groups at 200yards with a factory 111
I've loaded my 300 WSM down to .308 speeds and I got fine accuracy with 165 gr SGK bullets.
