bought the rifle but havent got it yet. Who does good work for a savge large shank in 338 rum?
I am thinking about buying a savage model 110 in 300 rum. I was thinking of rebarreling to a 338 rum or 338 edge since it is a 300 rum already. I dont have the rifle yet but i would like to know what the max mag length is? is there any modifications you can do to make it longer like a wyatts box for a remington? what is the best way to go about doing this? i saw a post on another forum where a guy said he modifyed it to get ~3.9" in the box. is this with the blind mag or a hinged floor plate? also the rifle right now is a blind mag box, how hard is it to turn it into a hinged floor plate? i dont really care for the detachable magazine unless i can get it to feed good and get me a longer COAL. anybody have any info for me thanks

I have tried emailing him twice but havent hurd back from him. what is the best way to get ahold of him.
Here's a link to a thread in his area called " How to contact Sin Arms":

It lists his phone number....generally a better/ quicker way to get a hold of him. But remember..he has a full time day job...so you might have to leave a voice mail and he'll return your call.

with a full time job and an overwhelming request for his second job from home services, He has admitted his email responses are very slow.Originally Posted by calhunter805

Awesome thanks guys
here's a crazy thought.... shoot the 300; its an awesome chambering, its about as fast a 300 you can find once you tire of the beating it gives your shoulder think about a re-barrel, why the rush for the 338
I believe he has a 300 RUM already, along with other big 7mm's. He's thinking of a 338 edge chamber, cant wait to shoot it.
The rush is for the bullets. 300g Berger hybrid, 300g SMK, 285g Barnes, and the 300g Nosler Accubond. They carry a ton of retained energy and punch a big hole at long range.Originally Posted by defoxer

Yeah Trialrider is right i have a 300WBY and a 7mm STW already, I am looking at the 338 Edge for the bullet selection 300gr OTM bergers or 300gr Accubond. Geargrinder as already told he how he cut his mag box to feed 3.9" so it shoudl be a pretty fun build. I am just going to sell the 300RUM barrel and factory wood stock off it.
