well its attachd to the action
Then it need to have at least one FFL holder involved. A shop with a FFL can receive direct from you for repair and ship back to you,the owner. BUT many want FFL's on both ends to cover there assets ans they can not verify the address it was shipped from and the return address. You will have to talk to who ever you are shipping to to see if they are willing to send it directly back to you.

Sounds like this is a perfect reason to get the tools to take that barrel off and reattach it when it comes back ....
A gunsmith in your area should be able to do this realitively cheap. I wouldn't spend the money on shipping & FFL when i could get it done local for the same cost ... or less
closest one to me is in kc so id have to ship anyway or drive 3 hours
Where are you located at?

I am Near Rolla, I can help you take it apart if you want some help with it. That way you wont have to send the whole barreled action, just the barrel.

I have used a hacksaw and Brownell's crowning tool(11 degree) with the correct pilot successfully on many barrels. Cutting oil and a little finesse helps a lot. Accuracy has always been better than before.
