My oldest son turns 12 yr old tomorrow. I have put together various actions-stocks-barrels over the last couple of years for him to deer hunt and just pull them apart when season ends. I purchased him a 308 McGowen 26" 1:11 twist and had it in a Boyd's Thumbhole varmiter. He likes to shoot this gun prone and will use it as an FClass rig when he starts going. It was just way to heavy for a deer rig for a 115 lb 11 yr old. So I started gathering parts and put this rig together for his B-Day. Action is a Stevens LA that has been T&T by Fred with a SSS trigger. Stock is an old maple 110 stock that a forum member installed pillars, bedded, and put a wicked paint job on. EGW rail. Burris signature rings. Vortex Viper 2-7x with BDC. 308W sporter barrel. It is the factory 22", but I think we will probably chop 3-4" off of it. It really balances nice as is. Loaded put some 125 Nosler BT with a mild load of H4895. I bet he will be all smiles tomorrow.... Holiday doe season opens next weekend....

Ain't Savages great. Already started gathering parts for the 8 yr old's gun.

Happy holidays, Tim
