I say sorta new because I created my account in 2009, but haven't been active in quite a while. Got my first savage in 2010, a 112 VLP in 300 WM that I use for a hunting rifle for elk, deer and antelope. It's a bit of a tank for hiking around the woods but so easy to shoot without a brake that I don't mind the weight. Bedded with devcon it's an honest 3/4 moa rifle with no other work.

That rifle got me hooked so I bought a Steven's 200 around 2012 for a budget 338 edge build I was planning. Sent it off to SSS for time & truing, fishnet bolt fluting, single shot insert, SSS trigger & bolt handle. And that's as far as that project made it. Lost steam and got into building AR's.

Fast forward to this year and I've been itching to resume building a 338 edge. I've been keeping an eye out for a a good quality pre fit barrel and finally found one. I picked up a shilen select match 30" with Holland QD brake and a choate stock (because it was too cheap to pass up). I'm excited to be moving forward again. All I need to do is headspace it, check brake timing and have adjusted if necessary, and put some glass on it.

Really wanting to start a 6.5 cm build too and will likely build it on a savage long action. That way I can shoot the long bullets without worrying about mag length and could change calibers to a larger 6.5 in the future.
