So my 16 LWH in 6.5 Creedmoor has been claimed by my wife. I was going to buy another 10 FCP-SR in 6.5 Creedmoor 20" barrel but I have a Howa HB .308 that's a tack driver. It has a 20" barrel but since it'll be a 500 yard and under gun I'm thinking of cutting down the barrel to 18" and threading it. I'd like the weight savings but I'd hate to throw off the barrel harmonics (if that's possible) and effect accuracy. I've seen the barrel cutting velocity tests but the don't talk about accuracy.

I think I'm over thinking it and it might only change POI but I'm hoping some folks have done something similar in the past.
