Not a Savage but techniques for all you gun painters out there.


Just putting this out there for anyone who may be interested. Picked up a 24" fluted barrel from Brownels and had to paint it. Check of the inter web revealed the ball bearing/marble method of taping it off. Basically, wrap the barrel with standard masking tape then slide your marble up down the flute until it cuts the tape. Pull the tape off and paint. I also color filled the lettering with spray paint then wiped it off with a rag sprayed with carb cleaner. Base coat used was KG flat dark earth and other are just regular spray paint. The gun will be completely painted in Arid Flectarn camo. Pics to follow.
