After receiving my new Model 14:

I began sight in, barrel break in and load development.

Three patches of Hoppes #9 revealed a very clean barrel and some even 'scratchiness' the full length of the barrel without rough spots when wiping out with a clean patch.

Barrel run in was:
1 shot
Clean with two patchs hoppes #9 and one of Sweets 7.62. Swabing out with a clean patch between each.
two shots
clean
two shots
clean
three shot group of 1.245". Load was 85 Nosler BT over 36.0 grains of 2208 (Varget)
clean.

I then switched to 100 grain Nosler Hunting BT's. I plan to use this combo in the outback of Australia where the 'ferals' are big and camels need to be head shot out to 200 metres.

I used:
Neck sized W-W 250 Savage brass from a previous custom 250-3000.
Rem 9 1/2 Primers
OAL was 2.570" with the 100 grain Projectile a flys pubic width off the lands.

Loads were 34.0, 34.2 and 34.5 grains.
Three shot groups went from 1.035 to 1.585" at 100 yards cleaning after each group.

After 27 rounds down the barrel, the barrel was cleaning very easily. I added a shot of Gunslick Pro Foaming Bore Cleaner to the end of the cleaning regime and no copper build up was evident.

I then re-tightend the scope ring screws and checked the action screws. The front action screw was up tight however the rear screw needed to be cinched up a quarter turn. I plan to get a torque wrench in the near future.

The group on the right went 0.380" after one fouler shot into a gong. OAL for that load was 2.550".
I then adjusted the scope one click (1cm) left and two clicks (2cm) down)
The group on the left was 1.585" with a now hot barrel on a 32 deg Celsius day and OAL 2.570".

Two more shots at a 4" gong at 200 yards produced two hits. Happy days. :)

If I can regularly repeat the smaller group I will stop there. Velocity is unknown as I have yet to replace the chrongraph. The ADI reloading manual suggests a MV of 2,800fps.

I am very pleased with how this rifle is performing with so few rounds down the tube.
