Hey all! I read on another forum recently about someone shooting 105 A-maxes out of a Savage. According to that guy it has worked out quite well for him: Pretty nice groups at a 100 and small critters taken over 300 or so. His gun was stock, Predator Max1 I believe. Has anyone here had similar success with 105-107 grain pills launched out of a stock barrel with 9.25/1 twist? I bought a 243 rifle not too long ago (11VT) and even picked up a couple of boxes of 105 grainers today (Hornady HPBT and Berger hunting VLDs) inspired by that thread but before I get all exited and start loading them figured I 'd ask here. The sequence of events here may be a little a*s backwards I do realize and I should 've asked here first but in any case those bullets aren't gonna be wasted - I will be getting an aftermarket barrel for it at some point.
