I just rigged out a .308 cal. 10 FCP K with Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24X50 scope w/ ill. mil dot reticle. Also swapped out factory brake with a Black River Tactical Covert Comp in 7.62 mm. The reason for the swap is that I often shoot with other folks at the club in organized shoots, and didn't want to batter them with side/back blast from the factory brake. The BRT Covert is a so called "linear" brake, with all the boom going out the front. It is smaller and lighter and, while not as "bad a$$ looking, looks pretty good. With a heavy rifle, mild recoiling round, and cushy recoil pad, I didn't feel I needed the factory brake's recoil mitigating effect.
First range day, using Federal GMM w/ 168 gr. SMK's, after getting on paper, we averaged 1" at 200 yd. from sandbag/rear bag rest under windy conditions. Smallest group was 0.75", largest was 1.25. So, it all went together pretty well. Looking forward to getting my hands on some components so I can reload for this baby! JB
