I sent in my 10 FP for repair (again) to the scope mount threads, the hole had some slag in the threads when I got it and I got one of the screws stuck, sent it in and Savage removed the screw and retapped the hole. I recently switched to a 30mm Viper PST and had to remount with a DNZ one piece, when threading the mount in I felt slight slippage and stopped, called Savage and they had me send the rifle back to them. This particular 10 FP in 308 does not shoot near as well as my 223 10 FP, the 223 often shoots one holers 3 shot groups, the 308 has a hard time getting under 1 inch. I asked them to look at the barrel and mounting, but am now thinking about asking them to switch out the barrel to a 5 r in 308 or 260 since they have it there. Anyone have experience with Savage doing this type of work and any input on the 308 or 260 selection?
