Hello all,
I've come across something that i havent seen any of my rifles do before. After fire forming a round i am finding nicks along the shoulder of the brass almost as if i were to have drug it across the pavement. These nicks are deep enough to catch a fingernail and have that bright shiny fresh brass color to them suggesting fresh when fired. It has been doing this since i bought it new but really didnt think too much about it till i was frustrated with not getting the rifle to group as well as a $1300 rifle should. The chamber has been cleaned out and i am still getting gouging on every case with from what i can tell the same pattern of gouging. The rifle is currently waiting for a gunsmith to look into it. Has anyone come across this before or would know what would be causing this? Attached are some pictures to help with the description.
Any direction would be wonderful,
Jesse
