not really. .225 win is about the only one I would say is uncommon. few guys like the .222s. .223s was not made very long the .30-30 is the very common one.
Howdy. New to the forum, have a modest collection of 99's and 24's and a few other Savages. I just acquired a M340A bolt .30-30, and have owned a few others in the past (but kids needing deer rifles keep showing up).
This one is very unusual, I believe, as it is 1955 manufacture (I think), not drilled for side mount scope, has a Lyman #40 peep (a model specific for this gun), and the rifle is in what I would term excellent to near-new condition. Anybody collect these? This is a beauty.

Picked one up in a pawn shop a few months back. I love it and I'm sure it will be one of the few guns that I hold on to for a while. It is a 1953 model and the previous owner had carves a deer scene into the stock and installed a compass in the grip.....Neat
some one got fancy on mine also.
